My Perfectly Pipeable Chocolate Buttercream

This is my all time favourite icing recipe, it is smooth and creamy making it really easy to pipe and did I forget to mention that it is absolutely delicious? You don't have to stick with chocolate icing, you can leave out the cocoa powder and make whatever flavour you like. Some Variations: Plain (but tasty) vanilla: Leave out the cocoa powder and add in a tsp of vanilla essence Chocolate Orange: Add in 2-3 tbsp of orange juice (straight from orange) Mint: Leave out cocoa powder (unless you want chocolate mint) and add one tsp of mint essence Coloured Icing: Leave out cocoa powder and add a few drops of the food colouring of your choice. Gel food colouring is better for this because it doesn't change the consistency but liquid food colouring works too. Recipes I didn't like: B-List Chocolate Chip Cupcakes

I tried out this recipe recently in high hopes that it would turn out amazing but I was slightly disappointed with the outcome. I followed the method for the cupcakes exactly step by step and then used my own chocolate icing recipe. The final product looks great and don't get me wrong they tasted great I just didn't enjoy the method. If your looking for something quick and relatively easy that your not trying to impress crowds with these may be your best shout but, for me I just didn't like them. I have other recipes for chocolate cupcakes that I adore and use all the time that might even be easier than this one but, with all that said I learnt a lot from this "failure". At the end of the day there is no exact science to this, it's all a bit of trial and error. The Best Chocolate Mug Cake

Out of the many mug cakes I have tested and re-tested, this by far is the one to go with. It's noot too rich or too sweet, it's a perfect airy chocolatey cake that will definitely fill any chocolate craving. It is honestly the best chocolate mug cake I have EVER tried, you have to try it! Ingredients ¼ cup plain flour 2 tbsp cocoa powder ¼ tsp baking powder 2 tbsp caster sugar pinch of salt ¼ cup of milk 2 tbsp vegetable oil 1 tbsp chocolate spread or chocolate chips Method Mix all dry ingredients together in a small bowl. Add in vegetable oil and milk and mix until well combined. Pour the batter into a microwave safe bowl leaving enough space at the top for it to rise. Add in the tablespoon of chocolate spread or chocolate chips ontop. Microwave the mug for 1 minute and 30 seconds.
